Casa de Ancianos
My mom, Carmen Ramos was born in El Salvador and came here to the U.S. in 1989. I think of my mother as a very successful person. She came here with only one luggage and she has made the U.S. her home. I admire her work ethic and her motivation to move us forward.
My mom is thankful for all the opportunities that she has received here in America. She is proud of where she comes from and I admire her for contributing back to her country.
Every Christmas and most summers, her and a my aunt create a special event for the nursing home in San Julian, El Salvador. She feels that everybody thinks about the care of children, but no one remembers the elderly. That is why she makes a day to celebrate them and for them to have a great time.
My mom bought Pollo Campero, a spanish version of KFC, so that they had a good and delicious meal. Because Pollo Campero is nothing that they have very often. She also hired a mariachi band to play and they enjoyed themselves dancing and singing along. It was a perfect moment and I am glad that I got to experience it. You see these women where they are of old age and have certain health issues, but that doesn't stop them from getting up and dancing. Her and my aunt also put together a goodie bag full of soaps and toothpaste; giving them the things that they need.
It was a perfect day and I am very proud of my mother.

Spain
My family went on a trip to Spain just a couple years ago. We arrived in Spain the exact same day when they won the world cup back in 2010. When we were in the airport we got to see all the fans arriving and we stayed in Madrid the first night and I remember no one went to sleep that night because every Spaniard was celebrating their victory.
We took a tour all over Spain and we went to almost ever city in two weeks. Spain is beautiful and is filled with so much art and beauty.

French Students
Today we had French student visitors. I got the opportunity to have 2 students walk around with me today.
Last year I also had the same opportunity. His name was Antoine LeChatier, and he was incredibly nice and attractive haha He was 15 years old but he seemed much older than that, and the city in which he lives is only a couple minutes away from Paris. We had a wonderful day together and he spoke conversational english.
This year two girls shadowed me. Jade and Morgan. They were very nice and they looked very old for their age, which was 15. They live 7 hours from Paris and they go to school in a castle. Compared to the group last year, they were not so classy. Also, they knew very little of english. I know that many Europeans like to smoke cigarettes, but the attempts they made were to many to count. There was a time before third period were they just walked out of the school to smoke a cigarette behind a tree hahah I was terrified that they got lost in lancaster haha
You could see that they are very different and it makes you wonder why some teenagers are in such a race to grow up!

Dreams & Aspirations & Paris
Dream - A visionary scheme; a wild conceit; an idle fancy; a vagary; a revery; -- in this sense, applied to an imaginary or anticipated state of happiness; as, a dream of bliss; the dream of his youth
I am completely in love with France. Everything about it. The elegance, the people, the food. Everything about France is filled with class and you see beauty in everything. That is why I want to go and I want to stay there and I want to experience the beauty. I love the language, I am currently in level four and I want nothing more than to continue and be fluent. This is my dream and I am going to make it come true. However, it is much easier to say it than to actually do it. One second you are like me, 18 and figuring out the rest of your life. and then you are 40 and your plan did not work out. I do not want to be the person who did not go or get to experience my dream. But, I have to work for it, I have to remember what I fell in love with.
I went to Paris with my dad a couple years ago. The purpose of the trip was to see the last race of Le Tour de France and it was the best trip I have ever taken. It was me and my dad walking all around Paris. Our friend was the map and we went where ever we wanted. Also, one of the best and luckiest moments of my life happened in Paris. It was the the last day of Le Tour de France and that night my dad and I were walking to the Eiffel Tower and he decided to take a short cut and in the middle of the street there was a hotel and there was a lot of people standing outside and it seemed like they were waiting for someone. So we decided to stay to see who was coming and a tour bus pulls up and out comes the winner of the Le Tour de France from the very same day! The winner of Le Tour de France 2007 El Contador from Spain. Once again on of the most luckiest moments of my life.

"Who Gives a Crap"
"We started Who Gives A Crap when we learnt that 2.5 billion people
across the world don’t have access to a toilet which roughly 40% of the
global population. It means that diarrhea-related diseases fill over
half of Sub-Saharan hospital beds and kill 2,000 children under 5 every
day.
And we thought that was pretty crap.
So in July 2012, we launched Who Gives A Crap with a crowdfunding
campaign on IndieGoGo. Simon sat on a toilet in our draughty warehouse
and refused to move until we had raised enough pre-orders to start
production.

Today and the rest of the year
So today after school and all day tomorrow I will be attending a model UN conference at Penn State Harrisburg. I will be representing the Philippines. Very excited!
Also, I only have three more month till I graduate! I am starting to write my research paper in class about developing charities and the impact of races on society. So that is what I am going to do for the rest of the year. oyea and I decided to learn sign language hahaha will be very useful someday!
